My schedule says that I did 57 workshops, talks, hackathons, facilitations and consultings in 2019. And while scrolling through roughly 2000 photos in my external Day One brain that must obviously be true. I saw a lot of places in Bangladesh, Malawi, Ukraine, Austria, Switzerland, Netherlands and Germany that I did not know before. And i met a hell lot of people here and there.
It was great fun to try out a totally new workshop concept called DW Grundlagen together with my dear colleague Marlis. It was cool to hang out in Odessa and I never would have thought that I would visit an AR/VR lab in the northern part of Bangladesh, wait for the agricultural minister of Malawi in the middle of nowhere and trains, so much trains.
I quit my phd plans in order to spent more time with the kids, worked on a XR framework with Vragments and found time to read. About Kafka, Capitalist Realism, youth, photography, automation, this and that. I listened to music. And I walked around. Twitter and Instagram were crucial. And friendly places of knowledge and inspiration. I quit Facebook. And got way more email-newsletters. There was more facilitation this year: helping with an entire process instead of dropping knowledge.
Some ideas and plans for 2020:
+ rework the entire set of stories slides to include containers
+ playing around with TikTok to get more familiar with the mechanics
+ AR prototyping with different tools: Torch, Wiarframe, Spark
+ article on XR in the context of cultural institutions √
+ playing around with a little podcast-idea – yet again
