The last weeks have been rather insane. And so have my slides. They have adopted. Maybe the idea here is to get people hooked in. Maybe it is more about using visuals that i like. Or maybe it is all about showing not telling. I really was not sure about the christian cross in TikTok but i guess it worked. To spark a discussion. To teach TikTok. This morning on Twitter i read some random writing rules. One said: Do it for the one person who gets it. I guess there is always one in the room. So this is for you. At the end of the longest line.
It was fun presenting TikTok research methods to a bunch of journalists. In the end academics and journalists do a pretty similar job here using the same tools.
I presented the status quo of my phd research on postdigital propaganda to - amongst others - Ofer Fridman (Senior Lecturer in War Studies and Director of Operations, King’s Centre for Strategic Communications (KCSC)). He was not too fond of the whole notion of "postdigital" – i do not mind. Let's see how things go.
It was good to see that (nearly all of) the disinfo-community at MISDOOM 20204 in Munster was not too happy with the term itself, with the definitions at hand and the entire big disinfo, misinfo/disinfo discourse. I still need to do a write-up.
I presented to different security authorities. And learned about a new "Central point for detecting foreign information manipulation" at Federal Ministry of the Interior. Invite me. Please.
This is Kings Quest I. This is what happens if you use outdated references from 1984/87. Just like an aging professor. My manifestation.
Bow to the king.
